Das Pferdegesundheitszentrum Mitteldeutschland (Central German Horse Health Center) in Elterlein in the Ore Mountains opened its doors at the beginning of August 2025!
Here, horses can be admitted as inpatients and holistic care in the areas of rehabilitation, therapy, and training can be booked.A special highlight is the aqua trainer – or rather “aqua streamer” – from Plyo Kinetics, which is used specifically for muscle strengthening, rehabilitation after injuries, and performance enhancement. The latest features, such as the “Streamer” – a cold water counter-current system that simulates the effect of a flowing stream – and an uphill and downhill function offer the veterinary team a wide range of options for individualized and targeted treatment of horses, depending on the diagnosis.
In addition to the Aquastreamer, the PlyoPulsePlate is also in use:“For horses that are already damaged or injured, the PlyoPulsePlate in particular offers the possibility of rebuilding the supporting and stabilizing structure of the muscles, tendons, and connective tissue—while protecting, for example, diseased joints. At our clinic, we see great potential in this form of therapy, for example in the treatment of suspensory ligament damage, joint diseases, or as a post-operative treatment method. Especially in cases of knee joint injuries, the stabilization of the corresponding muscles, which has proven itself in human medicine, can now also be promoted in horses,” says Julia Hübner.
Light therapy with UV-infrared colored light and a specially developed dental treatment stand make the therapy and training center absolutely state of the art.
